After a long morning of walking through the forest, the group of pokemon trainers were taking a much deserved lunch break. Everyone had their pokemon out and the trainers and pokemon alike were chowing down on their food. Clemont's Chespin, having already eaten his, began looking for an opportunity to get some more food. As he began grabbing the food that Serena's Fennekin was eating, the little fire fox grew angry and knocked the grass rodent back.
"Fennekin, stop!" shouted Serena.
Unfortunately, Chespin just began taunting Fennekin more, getting it even more riled up. Serena knew it was about to attack so she quickly tried to grab the pokemon and calm it down. She knelt down and hugged Fennekin and tried to angle it away from the others.
She was just a bit too late as Fennekin unleashed a small fire attack. It safely soared clear of the others and their pokemon, but Serena's close proximity meant that it did hit her. She looked down and realized the hem of her dress and the bottom of her vest had caught fire. Her skin wasn't burnt yet, but the flames were quickly spreading.
