Allison had always been the youngest of her family, about eleven years and barely standing more than 5'3", even when considering her perpetual cowlick in her short brown hair. This was finally the year she felt like Carnivale was in her reach, to finally get a taste of her country's celebrated heritage. But, same as every year, Allison's parents forbade her from going, claiming she was till much too young to go. Leaving her to take care of herself, the rest of the family packed into the car and drove off, giddy with excitement at the prospect of this year's festivities. Allison, as soon as she was sure they had left, ranted and raved about the house, screaming about how unfair life could be and how stupid her parents must be to be treating her like "a dumb baby." She then git a brilliant idea, one that drew a devious grin from her face, she decided that running away from home could make her point.
Writing a quick note explaining her reasoning, Allison packed a dufflebag, locked the door with all the lights off, and headed off into her backyard, the Amazon Rainforest. She knew of the dangers of predators and poisonous creatures, but that didn't stop little Allison who was marching her way to the river, where she planned to hike her way to Carnivale. But, as once best said,"the laid plans of mice and men, often go awry."
