"Wonderful!" said Matthew. He signaled another fur nearby to bring him his carriage. A moment later, a large wooden carriage arrived at the town square being pulled by two giant horse. Matthew held open the door to the carriage for the smaller fox. When William was inside, Matthew wedged himself through the doorway and plopped himself down on the seat opposite of William. The carriage groaned under the weight of the obese fox before it slowly pulled away.
"Did you enjoy my little show back there?" asked Matthew.
"Show?" replied William.
"That eating contest. It's not really a contest for me. These days, I can easily eat way more than my competition. So, for dramatic effect, I'll try and make it look like someone might upstage me for once before I snag the victory for myself!"
"I didn't think that roo was going to beat you. You easily ate twice as many pies as he did."
"Okay, so I don't play it up all the time. I missed my second midday snack, so I was a bit hungry going in. And it takes a lot to get this baby full!" Matthew gave his rotund gut a slap. The jiggling and wobbling of the fox's belly mesmerized William momentarily.
"Well, I hope over twenty pies keeps a big fox like you full!" said William.
Matthew started lazily rubbing his extended belly with his left hand. "I dunno. I think I have room in here still. Which is good. I have a half dozen cheesecakes waiting for me. Maybe I can save a few for you."
"Thanks, but I can hardly eat a few slices of cheesecake, let alone whole cakes themselves."
"Yeah, that's what I thought when I was your size..." mused Matthew.
"My size?" He was astonished that such a gluttonous fox was ever as rail-thin as William was. Especially considering that the massive fox was almost too wide for his carriage; his meaty flanks brushed against the interior walls and his heavy gut jiggled uncontrollably after every bump in the road. "You used to be skinny? What happened?"
"That's for me to know," replied Matthew. "Maybe you'll find out. We're here!" The carriage grind to a halt. Matthew was the first to get out, though it took him a few minutes to squeeze his huge frame out of the carriage. William didn't mind this since it gave it a solid glance at the fatter fox's ample butt. When William got out, he only had a few seconds to admire the exterior of Matthew's house before the bigger fox grabbed him by the wrist and started dragging him inside.
"Well, I hope you hungry for dessert. I know I am..." Matthew says.
