"Never mind that now." Kelsey said, her impatience returning a little despite her state of undress. "You were in the middle of explaining Nikki's grudge."
"Oh...that." Brandon's gaze was already fixed on the floor in front of him but now there was a new reason. "Well yeah when I told her all the stuff I'd heard, like how smart you are, she got really jealous. I thought I'd calmed her down but I guess she just played along with me and took it out on you."
The injustice of this was stoking Kelsey's temper again but this time not at Brandon. She could see that he hadn't played a part in her humiliation and honestly her heart had fluttered slightly to hear him call her smart. She was also starting to notice the boy's behaviour. Even though he was averting his eyes she kept catching him stealing a glance towards her. Although mostly covered right now, Kelsey was still showing off the full length of her legs almost right up to her hips. Was he enjoying the sight of her? Was he imagining her as he'd seen in the corridor only seconds ago, naked with just her bag to cover her? Was he even wishing she'd dropped the bag?
In all her various states of undress today this was the first time Kelsey had felt good about being seen. She was still mortified but with it came a mischievous pleasure. She tried to calm herself, she might be reading this all wrong. She'd have to find out somehow but that would mean pushing things a bit further. She could still play innocent but was she really ready to embarrass herself on purpose. At this thought her feeling of mischief returned. Feeding off of this she hoisted herself up to sit on the nearest desk, stretching her legs as she slowly folded one over the other and sat with a little smile playing across her lips.
Brandon for his part was both confused by her sudden confidence and still unsure if it was ok to look at her. He could not know that in the few seconds she'd been quiet Kelsey had figured out all the ways she could use this situation to get what she wanted and get revenge on Nikki in the process.
