Chapter #3

Something shatters on the floor in the kitchen

by: Devil's Delight-Cherry Author IconMail Icon
He leaps from his bed, still fuzzy from too much sleep and catches his foot in the bedclothes that are hanging down his side of the bed. He goes crashing down to the floor, his foot twisting beneath him, and loses half his flannel striped pyjamas on the way. He curses loudly rubbing his elbow, and then hops down the stairs on his one good foot holding onto the banister as he tries to pull his pants up with the other.

"What happened?" he says as he rounds the corner in to the kitchen, stil llimping a little. His wife is standing in the middle of the floor. He barely registers that she is wearing a red lace teddy, black fishnet stockings and very, very high heeled stillettos. His focus goes to her face, where her bottom lip is trembling and her eyes are filled with tears as she looks from him back down to the floor at the wooden tray, fluffy scrambled eggs and bacon strips mixed with orange juice, coffee and an assortment of broken crockery spread across the sparkling white tiles. His mother's crystal vase is smashed to pieces, the beautiful red roses strewn lying outstretched across what clearly was his Valentine breakfast.

His eyes slowly move from the floor, to the very high stillettos, up her ankles, her cute knees, takes in the stockings now on her still very shapely thighs, the perky little teddy, the swell of her breasts peeping over the top. He can take this two ways, he thinks wildly.... his mother's crystal vase, or that very sexy teddy.

As his wife sees him, she bursts into tears, and his heart - and body react. He steps forward to take her lovingly in his arms ...and steps onto a large, jagged shard of glass.

THE END.
