This choice: Community Service -- building love into the norm • Go Back... Founder's Church Youth, I have noticed, are brought up to believe in supporting the community in which they are raised. I would like that for our Sanctuary Youth as well. Here is the Founder's Church Youth Ministry Vision and Mission Statement, plus their "bio" from the web:
Vision statement: Communing with God, building character, realizing dreams
Mission statement: The mission of Founder's Youth Ministry is to develop spiritually committed leaders through the teaching and practice of Religious Science.
Founder's welcomes youth of all ages under the direction of Rev. George Hines and his visionary adult and teen leaders. Through weekly classes that are available on Sundays at 10:00 am, the young people at Founder's find endless outlets for expressing their true spiritual natures. With a base of positive mentorship, prayer and Science of Mind principles, young people learn to reach their ultimate potentials in creativity, goal setting, confidence, character and self-esteem building, team projects, community outreach and participation in the Founder's Church services. Spiritual solutions for today's youth challenges are emphasized in age group specific programs.
Tomorrow's adults are cherished and nurtured in our Founder's Youth of today!
---
And this last statement, "tomorrow's adults are cherished and nurtured in our Founder's Youth of today!" is something I wonder if our center still struggles with?
Then there is the Harmony Center for Spiritual Living in Whittier
In their Welcome it is stated: "Harmony Center is an inclusive Spiritual Community. We transform our own lives as we love, play and grow together. Through the recognition of the Oneness of all Life, we consciously activate the Global Heart."

Our children's educational staff offers activities for children of all ages during the Sunday morning service. The program is built upon the Centers for Spiritual Living principles. We nurture their spirituality through craft projects, dialogue and music. Our goals are to help children learn to make positive choices in life and to build healthy self-esteem.
At the end of every Sunday service the entire congregation recites the following blessing for the children:
We love you.
We honor you.
We accept you.
Just the way you are!
Your children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and young friends will enjoy this powerful children's program.
We teach:
* God lives in our hearts and minds
* God is all there is
* God's life is within each of us regardless of race, color, ability, gender or creed
* God is all Good and that we are all created in the image of God
* God is love...we love God and God loves us
* Spirituality is something to be used all the time, not just on Sundays
* God's love heals our sickness and pain
* Use of affirmative prayer
* God is Truth, Beauty, Peace and Harmony
* Acceptance of each other, just the way we are
---
Which is very specific, and Sanctuary's website should have some of that, but I'm not willing to put it if we do not do it.
I also notice children in the pictures on their website -- how nice.
