Your kid sister Bryony comes in. She's 10, quite slim, with a bubbly personality, and you consider her a bit naive. She's a natural redhead.
"Oi. How about knocking first!" you yell at her. She turns and knocks on the inside of the door. "Better late than never!"
OK, so her normal entry ritual, which she well knows annoys you, has been completed.
"What you got there Terry?"
"Nothing for you to worry about. Just a board game."
Within three seconds Bryony has sat herself down on the floor beside the board. "Come on then. Let's play... Um, what is it?"
"Who says I'm going to play it with you?" you respond, desperately thinking how to avoid playing it with Bryony. "I was going to invite one of my friends over, so you can just go away again."
With that Bryony lies back on the floor, opens her mouth, and screams "Mom, Terry won't play with me!"
Oh bugger it. It's only a matter of seconds before the inevitable response comes up the stair from your mom telling you in no uncertain terms that you will play with your sister, or your ban will be extended. "Ok, Ok, you can play."
"So what do we do?"
"I don't know. I've barely even read the instructions."
