Amy swung open the door and greeted the pair. She smiled warmly and embraced Anne. Sarah took in the petite brunette. She looked to be in her mid twenties and was clearly not sober. She wore a denim skirt and short sleeved lilac top. Her tanned legs and feet were bare and stretched as she stood on tiptoes hugging her taller friend. As the two friends caught up, Sarah scanned the house. The entrance opened into a reception area and large living room with patio doors leading out to the garden beyond. There were people spread throughout and Sarah noticed something strange. Of the fifteen people present, she could see only three males. That wasn't the only thing she noticed. Everybody present was barefooted. There wasn't a shoe or sock in sight. She saw a few people glancing her way and felt anxious at meeting so many new people in one go. "You go and enjoy, I'll show Sarah around" said Amy before releasing Anne and grabbing Sarah's left hand. "Hey Sarah let me give you the tour" "ok sure... thanks" Sarah looked back to see Anne disappearing into the crowd. Her ballet flats had been discarded and she walked lightly on her wrinkled soles.
