Sure, at first glance hypnotism seemed like the most bogus of the options and that’s what Lauren thought at first as well. But that was before she found the website of one Madam Cynthia. The page consisted of four sections: one detailing Madam Cynthia herself, one explaining hypnotism, one full of testimonials, and finally one that provided instruction. Not giving a rat's ass about Madam Cynthia, Lauren skipped past her background and to the second section.
This section explained that humans had an unmeasurable amount of potential to change themselves through thought alone. Using hypnotism, one could access this subconscious power to change who they were; mentally, spiritually, and even physically.
It still all seemed bogus until the testimonials. Here Lauren found hundreds of posts from people who had attempted Madam Cynthia’s methods. Quite a few were negative, claiming it was scam and such, but the vast majority were positive. Most were people who had used hypnotism to overcome some mental obstacle, such as depression or ptsd. Lauren got significantly more interested when she saw both men and women posting before and after pictures. Most were weight loss, people having hypnotized themselves to lose weight, and others were workout and muscle mass differences.
Finally, Lauren stumbled upon a post that convinced her. It was by a girl named Joanna who was about her age. Joanna wrote about how she had been flat chested and teased for it and wanted a change, accompanied by a picture of her flat as a board. Joanna then explained how she had used hypnosis to make her breasts bigger and the after picture was all the convincing Lauren needed. In it, Joanna was happily wearing a bikini that barely fit her now melon like E cups.
Lauren quickly scrolled to the instructions to make her dreams come true. The process was not only really cheesy but easy and ordinary. Like in the old movies and shows, you needed a pocket watch. You simply waved it in front of the subject, clock facing them, and recited the words, “Eerf eb yas I ecno ekawa, eb dluoc uoy ohw ot dnim ruoy nepo, peed rebmuls dna peels ot og.”. Once recited the subject should enter a trance where they could be given instructions on how to change and be given triggers for the change and would only way when the hypnotist say, “Be free, [subjects name].” The instructions made it very clear that physical changes could not be instantaneous, that the fastest would be hours to a day or so depending on the change, and that mental changes could be risky if not worded right.
Quickly, Lauren planned her next move. Luckily for her, she found that her father had a pocket watch that she could borrow. Her only problem now was that she needed someone to hypnotize her.
Who does Lauren ask?
