Cassandra's POV.
I was not about to allow Amelia to fill Mark with false hopes, only to have his feelings crushed when David turns him down. Action was called for so I took Mark by the arm and pulled him away from my sister. Only I really did not want to expose everything by getting into an argument so I decided to be tactful.
"Why don't we work together on this, Amelia?" with a controlled grin, I suggested. "You may know a lot about fashion but Cassandra has turned down the cutest of boys this year."
"Why the sudden interest to help me?" with a bemused smile, Amelia asked. "This is... not like you."
"Well, I admit, I have not been myself as of late." honestly, I replied. "Cassandra and I gave each other a piece of our minds earlier and we're still sorting things out."
Amelia gave me a discrete grin, knowing what I was talking about but Mark looked confused. "Huh? You two got into a fight earlier today?" getting the wrong idea, he asked. Before anyone could answer, he pulled away. "Sorry, I don't like to get into the middle of such things."
"Very wise of you, Mark." smiling, Maria said. "Still, Amelia did offer to help you..."
Mark nodded then turned to Amelia, who seemed annoyed. "I'm sorry, Amelia." genuinely, he said. "Maybe later, after your brother and sister aren't in a fight?"
Amelia smiled at Mark, the mischievous twinkle in her eye returning. "Apology accepted, Mark." cheerful, she said. "I'll give you a few fashion magazines to look at, okay?"
Mark smiled back, looking almost excited. "Sure!"
"Just great. sighing, I thought. "Next, she'll be trying to play 'cupid' with me.
"How about you... David?" stressing my new name, Amelia asked. "Is there anyone I can help hook you up with?"
"No thank you." frowning, I replied.
"Once a loser, always a loser, no matter who you are!" annoyed, Amelia snapped. "Don't you get that I'm trying to help improve who you are!?"
