David's POV
We sat in silence as we pulled into the Ambrosia Corporation parking lot. It was just me, Mom and Dad. Dad thought it would be less complicated this way. I had one hell of week, but if anything it had made me feel worse. It had shown me exactly what I would be missing. I mean, sure I would still have Cassie, but can you see me hanging out with my friends or playing Call of Duty in my Mom's body!?
After we signed in, Mom and I hugged, before being taken to separate rooms for some tests. Dad went with Mom and told me he would check in with me in a few minutes.
"Hello there, you must be David," a grey haired man greeted me as I walked into the treatment room. "I'm Dr. Larry Thomas, your father has told me lots about you."
"Hi Doctor," I replied quietly. My stomach was doing somersaults by now. I turned to see one of the prettiest women I had ever seen enter the room. She had the cutest face, with sparkling blue eyes and blonde hair hanging down to her waist. She was clearly pregnant, and her hand rested on the sizable bump. She flashed me a smile as she saw me and my heart melted.
"Ah, this is my Assistant, Gloria Adams. You'll be seeing a lot of her over the next year or so," Dr. Thomas said.
"Hi David," she said, beaming. I felt an erection tenting my pants and hoped she didn't see it.
"Hi," I replied in a squeaky voice. I was in love... and I would be seeing a lot of her! At least something good would come of this... except of course I wouldn't be male anymore. Dr. Thomas snapped me out of my reverie.
"David, I just wanted say how grateful I am to you for volunteering for the trials," he enthused. " I appreciate that you are doing this for your family, but you have to understand that your sacrifice will have huge benefits for medicine. I mean, we had hoped to study the effects of an inter-gender swap, but we never dreamed that someone would volunteer for such a drastic age change! Studying how you adapt to being a middle-aged woman will be most enlightening..."
"Larry!" Gloria cut him off, glancing at my white face. "David, I apologize. Dr. Thomas is just very excited about this. Now if you would like to strip behind this screen and put on this gown, we will prep you for the procedure."
After taking some blood samples and inserting a line, they left me whilst they prepped Mom. Dad came in and gave me a smile.
"How we doing Champ?" he asked.
"Dad, I'm not sure I can do this!" I said nervously. "It's crazy! I don't want to become a woman! Become Mom!"
My Dad sighed and nodded. "I understand David, I really do. But it doesn't change the fact that we need that money. And you did volunteer."
"I know that Dad... but I can't... I mean, I would be your wife... we would..." I rambled.
"Don't think of it like that." Dad put his hand up. "You would be Elizabeth Mason, you would have an important job: caring for your family and making sure they get a good start in life. With the money we get from these trials, we won't just save the house but also have great college funds set up. I know it's a huge sacrifice I'm asking you to make, but it's one that would set your siblings up. So what do you say Champ?"
I swallowed and thought of Cassie. If there was anyone I could do it for, it would be her.
"Okay, Dad, tell them I'm ready," I said with a shaky voice.
"Thanks son." He smiled and gave me a hug.
Gloria came back in and prepared the anaesthetic. "Now David, I would like you to count to ten."
"One... two... three..."
