Chapter #6

That's Amore...Amore Food, That Is.

It had been pouring rain for five days now, a downpour that brought on a rather unpleasant chill and a biting breeze. It was the kind of day that made you want to cuddle up in a blanket and watch a fun movie, and Liara was doing just that. Sure that was what she mostly did anyway thanks to her legs, but the bad weather made cuddling up even more pleasing, especially now that she had someone else to cuddle with. Leaning against Javik's chest as they reclined on the sofa, Liara let out a soft sigh as the last scene of the movie (Citadel, a fairly popular dramatization of Commander Shepard's fight against the rogue Spectre Saren) played and the credits began to roll.

"Interesting..." Javik said thoughtfully. "That was your first mission with Commander Shepard?"

"Mhmm," Liara said soothingly. "Give or take a few details."

"Yes, they seemed to think the Reaper indoctrinating him had been a spaceship," Javik said coolly. "Not to mention they had an...unusual take on your relationship with the Commander."

"I'm sorry if that was awkward," Liara said, remembering the uncomfortable shuffle the two of them shared when the scene featuring a rather charged encounter between Shepard's character and Liara's flashed on screen. It wasn't a surprise of course, the Asari had always been up front about the relationship she had with Commander Shepard, and how after she came back from the dead they just couldn't rekindle that spark and they both moved on. Still, it didn't exactly make seeing a dramatization of herself 'embracing eternity' with her ex any less awkward.

"It was not," Javik confirmed, putting her at ease. "She was poorly cast anyway."

"She was? I thought the actors did well. The man playing Mr. Moreau even confined himself to a wheelchair for the part."

"True..." he said, taking her hand in his. "But I do not believe there is a soul alive who could match your radiance and set the stars alight as you can."

Liara's face immediately flushed at the amorous comment. "That...is so cheesy," she giggled.

"You do not appreciate my...waxing of the poetic, as humans call it?" He drew in closer, and she could practically feel his slow powerful heartbeat.

"Let me put it this way..." Liara said, drawing the Prothean closer and locking lips in a deep, passionate kiss. Javik responded in turn, careful to avoid bumping into Liara's damaged legs, still held in place by the cast shielding. They would be coming off soon though, and frankly she could not wait to be free of them and really "show" her beloved how deeply she appreciated everything he had done for her.

It felt like hours had passed before they finally broke apart; Liara's stomach seemed to think so as it growled at the pair of them.

"Dinner time," Liara announced.

"So it is," Javik confirmed. "Are you perhaps feeling adventurous?"

"You tell me," Liara responded, playfully stroking the side of his face.

"Then I have just the thing." Leaving her with a peck on the cheek, Javik stood up from the couch and strode into the kitchen, which sprang to life upon his entry. Stretching out her neck, Liara untangled herself from the blanket, now that she was plenty warm, and lay sprawled out on the couch, wondering what delectable awaited her. Of all the pampering and affection she got, by far the Prothean-made meals were some of the best parts. And of course now that she wasn't wrapped in a blanket that was starting to become apparent.

Liara frowned slightly, reaching down to caress the side of her stomach pooching out from under her shirt. She had expected to become a little out of shape considering she couldn't exactly go for a walk to shed some pounds, but maybe not quite this soon. Far from just a belly, Liara was starting to gain a not-insignificant layer of fat on herself, rounding out some of her bony features and making her comfy clothes for lounging around something of a tight fit. It was prominent on her belly of course, and to a lesser extent her chest, which had started to visibly strain the buttons on some of her shirts. She didn't even want to think about how her legs or rear looked after being sat on 24/7 for the same amount of time.

As the smells from the kitchen began to arrive in full force, already making Liara drool in anticipation, she spared one last thought for her burgeoning pudge...
