You stare into the mirror while holding your jaw to relieve the pain, you didn’t know what to think, obviously the app worked but now you were in Jackie’s body dealing with her toothache.
Suddenly you hear a nurse knocking on the bathroom door saying, “Miss Watson, you can come back now.”
Your heart begins to race as you walk out of the bathroom, as you follow the nurse all you could think about was Josh’s story about when he had to get a tooth filled. And you didn’t even know what was wrong with Jackie’s too but was defiantly going to be more than a regular checkup. Once in the back room the nurse asks you to have a seat in the chair, you hesitantly sit down. “Okay now what seems to be the trouble?” she ask, “It hurts.” You say, honestly not knowing what was wrong with your current body.
“Well let me have a look, now says ah.” She says pulling out a small flashlight; you open your mouth as wide as you can, or at least wide enough considering the pain. “Oh my looks like you have cracked a tooth,” she says, “I what?” you ask as I chill does down your spine, “Oh don’t worry it’s just a small crack, we can take care of that no problem.” She says
The nurse leaves the room to do get the dentist, and you quickly reach for your phone to call Jackie. “Hey?” you hear your own voice say, “What did you do!?” you say trying to keep your voice down, “Hey calm down, I’m just as freaked out about all this as you are.” She says, “Wanna bet, the nurse just looked at your mouth and you cracked one of your teeth!” you exclaim, “Oh wow! I didn’t think it was that serious.” She says, “Well it is and now she is going to go get the dentist.” You say, “Wait so they can fix it just like that?” she asks, “Apparently, so quick swap us back before they get back.” You say desperately.
“Well your phone just has my name on a calendar from 2pm to 3pm, what does mine say?” she says, you find she app on her phone and see a timer counting down, 45min to go. “All I’ve got is a countdown.” You say in frustration, “Well I guess we can’t switch back till the countdown is over.” She says, you can hear someone coming down the hall, “You’ve got to be kidding me,” you say, “Hang in there me and josh will read more about this and get back to you, later.” She says hanging up the phone.
Just then the dentist and nurse enter the room, “Alright Miss Watson if you’ll lay back for me we can get this taken care of for you.” He says smiling, you then slowly lay back and close your eyes as the doctor sedate you for the procedure.
After it was all over you walk out of the office trying not to think about what had just happened, not only did you have to get dental work done but you did it for someone else. You then get in Jackie’s car and drive to Josh’s place with 10mins left on the countdown. You knock on the door and find your body opening it to let you in.
