"I'll take it!" you declare firmly as you inspect yourself in the mirror.
The necklace looks astounding on you. It makes your eyes sparkly in the light, and you imagine that you are more beautiful than ever. Of course, it's just a necklace, but it seems to have given you more confidence.
"I take it that you're going to be graduating soon?" The saleslady asks, making small talk while ringing up your purchase.
"Yes, I'm a senior," You reply. "I think this will look good with my Prom dress that I haven't bought yet."
"I'm sure that you will find a lovely dress." The saleslady answers, handing you back the necklace.
"I just wish that I had a boyfriend to take me to Prom," You sigh, as you place the necklace around your neck.
The saleslady's eyes widen in terror.
"Be careful what you wish for!" She stammers, pointing at the necklace as it begins to glow.
The glow of the necklace quickly faded. It struck you as odd, but it must have just been your imagine. Looking around the store, you don't see Sarah anywhere, so you decide to wait outside.
Upon exiting the store you are greeted by a handsome, yet somewhat geeky young man about your age.
"Did you find you were looking for, sweetie?" He asks, as he bent down and gave you a quick kiss on the lips.
"Who are you?" You reply blushing slightly.
"It's me, Sarah, your boyfriend," The boy replies, taking your hand in his. "Are you ready to get lunch?"
"But, Sarah is a girl," You stammer, as you are led through the mall.
"We've been over this a lot," Sarah grumbled. "My parents have a weird sense of humor. At least they didn't name me, Susan. Now do you want to go get something to eat, or would you rather we find you a dress?"
