Not the Strangest Thing I Ever Saw, but One of 'Em

"Ohh…my back. Hey, Tails, do I have any burns?" Sonic moaned.

"No. Not that I can see at least. I'm glad you're okay!" Tails replied.

Sonic looked around. "Where are you anyway?"

"Oh, right! Sorry." Tails laughed embarrassedly. "Never thought I'd need to pick somebody up for them to recognize me. Especially him." he thought as he picked Sonic up.

"Wh-wh-WHOA!!!! Wh-WHAT'S GOING ON!!!!!?" Sonic cried in panic.

"Hey, calm down! I'm not gonna hurt you." Tails sighed, now holding Sonic at eye level. Sonic's eyes widened and his whole body paled. "Hey, what's the matter, Sonic? It's just me." Tails said gently.

"Wh-wh-what in the-?"

"Yeah. I know I'm big and all, but it's still me. It's still your lil' buddy." Tails pressed.

"H-how-"

"It's kinda hard to explain. Just take it easy. I'm not gonna hurt you."

Sonic swallowed hard, staring wide-eyed at his enormous, younger brother. He shivered a bit whenever Tails moved. Tails sighed and put Sonic back down. Sonic took a few, startled steps back, then fell. Tails looked greatly upset by this. He sniffled, sat down, hugged his knees, and rested his chin in the shelter formed by his arms, and rubbed his nose with his finger. Sonic paused, looking up at Tails with timid eyes. He noticed how upset Tails appeared to be.
