Sonic sighed. "Jeez'. I can't even see him. I'd better check on him." Sonic thought as he jumped far away from the tree. He then got on all fours and shifted through the grass.
Knuckles was surrounded by green. "Where am I? And what's that noise?" Knuckles wondered as he heard an odd noise. Suddenly, a shadow loomed eerily over him. "What the-!?"
Sonic looked down at Knuckles, his eyes full of concern. "I went too far. He-he's tiny. I gotta take care of him." Sonic thought pityingly. "Hey, Knuckles, you alright?" he asked quietly.
Knuckles looked up at Sonic in alarm. He stumbled backwards. "S-Sonic!?"
"Hey, take it easy. It's okay. I just wanna help. Don't worry." Sonic murmured, lowering a hand for the little echidna.
Knuckles took several steps back. "Don't touch me!"
"Shhh. I'm not gonna hurt ya', Knux. I only wanna help. Don't be scared." Sonic pressed gently. "How about we get you to Tails?"
