As the door opens up, the new neighbor steps forward but you don't see anyone and then she lowers her head down, she was walking on the ceiling. She had huge black hair with one red streak and two yellow bangs. "Hi, hi!" she yells. "Come in. I'm Jessica." You and Cadence walk in and then you look in fear at Jessica's lower half. Jessica was a drider and she had a giant red tarantula for a body, her abdomen looks big enough to build a small town on. Jessica crawls down and Cadence herself begins to shake. She must be arachnophobic.
"Oh, what a little cutie you have." Says Jessica. "Please don't eat me!" you yell. Jessica lets out a laugh. "Oh don't worry little guy. "I'd never eat a human. I'm a vegetarian." Both you and Cadence let out a sigh as Jessica takes a seat and picks you up out of Cadence's hand. She strokes you and lets out a coo. "Wow, you really love humans don't you." "Of course I do," said Jessica. "My son's a human." You give a look of human. "Your son?" "Adopted. He's in college right now in a human town. It's too bad. He can't visit me anymore because of how dangerous this town is for humans." You turn your head to see several pictures of Jessica with a scrawny looking brown haired male human as both a child and a young man.
You let out a sigh. If only more monsters were like Jessica. You certainly couldn't picture Nefernina or Lupa raising a human child. "So Jessica, what do you think of the apartment." "Well, I haven't met everyone yet, but you and your zombie friend seem okay Mr..." "R.L., and she's Cadence." "Cadence Deadman?" asked Jessica. "The horror writer? I love your work." Cadence lets out a grunt that almost sounds like a thank you. "I met Irene the other day and Petra. They're very friendly. But as for the ones of this floor, I've only heard about them and nothing good. First there's the jabberwock, Alicia. I hear she's a stoner. Gross. Then I heard there's a banshee on this floor. Not my favorite creatures." "Hey, at least you don't live next door to her." "But the one I like the least is that werewolf I've heard of." "Lupa." You mutter. "She's the reason why I can never let Parker visit me. Why do monsters have to eat humans? I know I'm a dridder, but they're so small and helpless it's so cruel." You let out a sigh. If only more carnivores would abandon their human based diets.
Then there's another knock on the door. "Oh," says Jessica as she gets up. "Who could that be now." You hide behind Jessica's huge back because you have no idea if it's a friendly monster or not. Who is at the door
