Over the course of a few days several other boys joined Mike in the sudden one inch growth club making them a group of 16. While Mike and Matt's parents were a bit worried they took the boys to the doctor who explained that once every 150 years or so this kind of thing happens and a certain age of the population are known as the Generation XL, apparently the last time it happened helped push the average height of the nation from 5'7" to 5'10". The Doctor said not to worry too much about Mike's sudden growth because there's bound to be a bit more and not to get too attached to his clothes since he might be fully grown by the end of the year. Not to mention to get ready to buy more food since growing boys need a lot of energy. Mike was really excited about that prospect. Mike and Matt had wondered for years if the two of them would end up looking different. They looked at their own father and their Uncle Greg who were also twins. Their Dad was a good 6'1" and 210lbs, a former jock who had softened up a bit over time and runs an office supply store, where his brother Greg is a PE teacher in the next town over and has a trim body. Both look a like, the boy's father having a trim blonde beard and Uncle Greg tending to have more stable on his more chiseled chin. The boys expected to grow somewhere between 5'10" and 6'2" by their estimates, but the doctor said that Generation XL more often than not tend to grow taller than their parents. The idea of Mike growing taller than their Dad by the end of the year was terrifying to Matt.
After the doctor examined Mike and sent him on his way the doctor examined Matt.
"Will I grow like Mike..?" Matt asked.
"I'm not sure, this only happens once every 150 years or so and we don't have much statistics about the previous times it happened," the doctor said writing on his laptop," But what I do know is you should cut down on your snacking."
Matt sighed.
News of Generation XL was soon on the news and a national phenomenon. The news reported that it was also happening in other first world nations like Canada, France and the UK.
Over the course of the next two months it appeared that Mike was growing at a steady inch per week. Not an overwhelming quick rate but still something to notice. It didn't take longer than a week and a half before Mike was boasting he was the Bigger, Older Brother now. While was technically only 15 minutes older than Matt. Mike's eating habits started to shift, leading him to get hungrier than before. Mike was also starting to become cockier the taller he got. He walked heavier, made sure to show off his height when he was close to Matt and of course tease Matt for being the smaller, younger and fatter brother.
Mike not only bully and teased Matt at home, but got his growing friends to help pick on Matt too. The growing boys were all jock types and all seem to be slowly developing more muscles on them.
Several of them would grab Matt's budding love handles or slap his belly or butt hard and call him names.
Matt didn't like what was happening and turned to food as a comfort. Matt took advantage of the additional snacks and food around the house and by the end of the month when Mike needed to go get some new clothes since his shirts were riding up on him and more and more of his socks were showing and his shoes were getting tighter, Matt had to get some new pairs of pants because of his growing waist and butt.
At the end of the month Mike was up to 5'5", a few inches shorter than his mother with eyes on passing his father and now half a head taller than his twin Matt.
Is Mike's body maturing at a slightly quicker rate or is he looking like a tall boy?
