"Yeah I guess it is," Simon said agreeing. He ran his fingers over it trying to get a better idea for it.
"We should go Simon," Desdemona informed him, pulling on his arm. "Ms. Grimm doesn't like when we're late."
"Yeah, okay just give me a few more seconds," he told his new friend. He ran his hands over the carvings, and he nicked his finger on a sharp piece of rock jutting out of the clay. His blood trickled out, just a few tiny drops, but to both Simon's and Desdemona's surprise the blood flowed over the carvings to fill the carved goblet. "Holy shit," Simon muttered. Neither had time to enjoy their shock as the wall began to shake violently, cracks forming in it. "Get back Desdemona," Simon warned her putting himself between her and the wall. The cracks flowed into each other forming another doorway and it slowly swung open. A warm rush of air followed by an icy cold arctic wind flowed past the two students. A long loud cackle began to sound, filling their heads with dread, and almost breaking their eardrums.
As Simon and Desdemona writhed on the ground almost to the point of tears, it all stopped. It just...stopped. Like it never happened. They got up off the ground, and Simon smiled having a new place to look. "SIMON. DESDEMONA. REPORT TO CLASS. NOW!"
"Who was that?" Simon asked unnerved
"Principal Darrow," Desdemona said scared.
"Well, we'll get to class in a few minutes, I'm checking out this door."
"No, Simon. Look at it after school, we need to go. Now."
Simon looked at Desdemona and decided that he would go with her. He liked her and didn't want to upset her. He reluctantly followed her out and back into the gym. They quickly made their way to Ms. Grimm's class, and Simon was immediately taken aback by how pretty she was, if you ignored the lincoln log she called a nose. "I wonder how the principal knew we weren't in class?" Simon thought to himself.
Ms. Grimm passed out the assignment to the class and looked out at her newest student Simon. She knew he had been up to something before class, making him late, but when Principal Darrow made an announcement, his first in 3 years, she knew she had to find out exactly what he had done.
