Peter Pettigrew has been getting attention from the apple of James Potter's eye; Lily Evans recently and this is bringing forth his legendary jealousy and seeks a spell to get him the kind of attention that Peter has been getting. Unknown from James, Peter is actually getting tutoring from Lily because his grades are getting so low that if he doesn't improve he will be demoted to First Year.
James finds a spell in the forbidden section of the library that says once cast will give the caster something of the target and change reality to fit that, but in typical James fashion he didn't read the fine print as it explains that the switch is a two way street and that anything that the target wants from the caster will be switched as well.
James wants the attention from Lily not caring for the reasons why Peter has her attention.
Peter has always been jealous of James and always wanted his bond with Sirius and Remus, his talents in Quidditch and Transfiguration, but most of all he wants James' ability to hold his bladder for you see every night Peter has to suffer at being humiliated by the other boys because he has to wear nappies for his bed wetting and just wishes that he could have what James has.
Whether Peter is aware of the change in reality is up to you.
