After you arrive at your best friend's house, you see his son Nick, short for Nicholas, playing video games on the couch. He is in every respect a completely average, normal 10 year old boy. He's about 4'6", not particularly bright nor strong nor much of anything else. He's not popular but he's not bullied. Which really makes him the perfect subject.
You ask Nick to pause his game for a moment and explain about the formula, which rests in it's clear container, shining with an internal golden energy, "So Nick, this stuff here, will make you into God."
"Like...I'll be smarter and stronger or something?"
"In a matter of speaking. Really though, you won't just be stronger or smarter, you'll be infinitely strong and truly all-knowing. Nothing will be beyond you."
Nick seemed interested but he did not quite seem to grasp the scope and scale of what you were speaking of, "But why give this to me?"
"I wanted to give it to someone worthy, someone good, someone who wouldn't become power-made or abuse their new might. I think that person is you, Nick."
That stunned him into silence. He'd never been so well entrusted with anything before, and now here you were, with his own dad's permission even, offering him without any strings attached, the ability to become God. Eventually he just quietly nods, and holds out his hand to take the container from you, opens it up, and starts drinking it all down in big, long gulps.
"Oh man, that tasted amazing!" Nick said energetically, before suddenly freezing up.
Nick's body raised into the air as he groaned, a golden light now shining from within him, as the power of the universe began to flow into him. Knowledge, strength, the energy of countless stars and galaxies poured into his body, becoming more and more and more still. Nick was not physically changing but both you and your best friend knew that he was changing in ways mortal minds could never comprehend, only a mind like Nick's...only a mind like GOD's could truly know.
And did he know. As he came back down to the ground, he was still the average looking 10 year old he was before, but he looked at you both with knowledge in his eyes, an understanding of the universe no one had ever had except for him.
He let out a quiet breath and looked at you, "Thanks for making me God. It's all so...simple, at least to me. I know everything that has, is, will, or could ever happen. I could change anything and everything with less than a thought and make it so that to everyone it would've always been that way, or not. Nothing truly is beyond me. It's amazing, really and truly amazing, thank you again."
"Of course Nick! I knew I could trust you, I knew you were the right choice!" you say, grinning from ear to ear.
"Indeed. Well though, if I'm God, I guess I oughta go and start 'being' God now, huh? I suppose the only question left is...where to start?"
