The day was pretty fine, as fine as a warm after noon with a breeze could get, anyway, not that Marcus had any time to settle down and enjoy it. The tall kangaroo was currently sitting down on the bench in the locker room, having just put his clothes back on after taking a shower and thinking mostly to himself. The others on his team were mostly chatting about things, talking about their hopes for the upcoming big game, and how they were laying their man hopes and fears right upon Fang, as usual. Despite the good job he did kicking the ball for the team, he always wanted to be a bit more than just the kicker. The kangaroo wanted to be the one that his teammates placed their hopes upon, the praise being heaped upon him, the face of the team as it were. He wouldn't feel so bad if the muscle-bound giant of a wolf didn't quip at him often, telling him he'll always be nipping at wolfs heels.
He was done with it, done with simply being the kick that would be forgotten, done with being the guy in the back, done with it all. The white furred marsupial would have himself be all that and more, if only he had some way of getting it all, and then keeping it while everyone else looked up to him, figuratively and quite literally for a change. He was lost in thought when a shadow moved right over him, and a hint of musky fur hit him, catching his attention and causing him to look up, spotting their 'star' player, Fang right before him, his trademark fang sticking out of his muzzle with a dark grin on.
"Oh, it's you roo-boy, whatcha' thinking about? Oh wait I got it, thinking about how good I'll look when I get MVP later? Or maybe how you'll come up with a good enough speech talking about how you learned everything you know from me?"
"Not now, Fang...I'm actually thinking about something important for a change, so if you could leave me alone I'd gladly fight with you later." Marcus retorted.
Fang snorted and waved one huge clawed at him before walking off, to shower get himself cleaned. Marcus frowned a little more and surmised to finally do something about this unbearable situation for once and all, and then he'd be the star. The kangaroo pulled on his socks and slipped his paws into his custom made sandals before standing up and looking around the locker room, by this point most of the other players had already left, which was just the opening he needed to walk over to his own locker and open it up with out anyone else seeing what he had in there. He put in his combination and then opened the door up, grinning at his little plan take shape.
