"You don't?" Mary asked, she sat on the dashboard with her legs crossed.
"With you two. Seriously, I think Carla might be little too rough to you guys, and Cathy, she'll probably work you guys to death." Wendy stopped after her speech because she knew she would be scaring the twins. "Anyway I going to work, and you're joining me."
"I'm fine with it," he said. He liked the bookstore; he would remember some Saturday afternoons reading comics while his twin sister would terrorize the customers. Wendy would always get flak for that and the twins were usually restricted to behind the counter. Now with the two smaller than the size of her thumb, she could keep an eye on them easily.
Wendy turned up the radio and drowned out her youngest siblings with the music. She would occasionally hum or sing the tune as she usually did when she drove to work. After a few minutes the twins made themselves known again and shattered Wendy's false sense of privacy. The older sister smiled with an embarrassed look, remembering that the two had caught her goofing off. They eventually arrived to the work place, and sh carefully placed them into her shirt pocket. The teenage girl told them to hold still for at least five minutes before they came out. They bounced along with Wendy's steps, and they felt each rise and fall in a rhythm like pattern.
"Hey Bridgette." Wendy greeted casually, and a brunette girl with shoulder length hair waved in response. Jaime's ears perked up at the call of her name. She was probably one of the only people to prefer him over Mart and her overall optimism. Plus, she shared the same interest in comic books as Jamie did, causing the boy to develop an innocent crush for her. He would occasionally look at her and study her features ranging from he tan skin to her hazel eyes. "I want to show you something." Wendy then put her hand into her shirt's pocket and fished out two disoriented children.
"Is that?" Bridgette asked, putting a hand to her mouth in surprise.
"Yes. It's who you think they are." Wendy confirmed, placing them onto the counter top.
"What happened to them? When did this happen? Are they stuck like this?" Bridgette began to ask a series of question which Wendy didn't have a correct answer for most of them.
"They're okay as far as I know." Wendy finally answered.
"Hi Bridgette!" Mary chimed, finally recovering from her slight dizziness.
"Hi," the girl waved awkwardly to the little girl, not knowing how to respond properly.
"Oh my gosh, Jamie! I know what to do." Mary looked overnto her twin brother and shook him as a way to snap some sense into him.
"What?" Jamie asked, wondering what ideas his sister had.
"Let's build a book-fort!" Mary shouted, running to a nearby pile of books.
"Uhh..."
