Deep within Washu's lab, there was a large glass container of grey goo. The Grey goo, of course, was nanites. However, these nanites could use the Juraian energy of the princesses and princes who lived in the Masaki household, as well as the energy that resided in Ryoko, Mihoshi, and Washu as their powerbase to replicate and do all sorts of things, like take over the clothes of Masaki household and maybe even the bodies for a time. (There's a connection or two between Mihoshi and Washu in certain continuities, but I'm not telling it here for now.)
The nanites were kept just slightly out of the way in Washu's lab. Mainly because the resident genius didn't want to forget about them, like she did about her device to test on herself that eventually became... DARK WASHU! (But Dark Washu is a different story)
So the Nanites were kept safe in the darkness. Pity that someone was walking up to the console for the nanites. The figure typed away at the console for a few minutes; deactivating security systems,programming the nanites to go after the Masaki residents, and putting in an adaptive program.
