Hanako awoke to a loud knock at her door. She lay on her left side, with her hair covering her face on the right side, so that only her left eye would be visible as her eyes opened wide to the sun shining in through her window. The dark haired girl rolled onto her back, gazing up at the ceiling, as she-
Hanako froze, as she felt a familiar, uncomforting warmth between her legs. Slowly, she pulled over the blanket to reveal a dark wet patch on the crotch of her pyjama bottoms, and a large yellow stain on her mattress that stank of urine. She let out a silent sob, as she scrunched her nose at the horrid smell.
It had started after the fire. Hanako had never wet the bed before then, but ever since then, she had had an extremely weak bladder. She usually got to the bathroom in time during the day, but while she was asleep, she had no control over her bladder. It didn't happen every, as she would always go before she went to bed. But every so often, she would wake up to damp sheets and a soaking bed.
It made her feel humiliated. She felt totally helpless, like she was a baby that couldn't even control when she peed. And there was nothing she could do about it.
Hanako heard the knock at the door again. Sheet panicked. Nobody could see her like this. But they must have known she was still in here. Looking through the peephole, she saw her good friend Lily's blank, yet comforting eyes staying dead ahead at nothing. Hanako, somewhat relieved, opened the door to her friend, hiding behind it.
"H-hello Lily. Erm... prehaps now isn't the best time... I was just..." Hanakos sentence trailed off, as she looked up at Lily.
"Hello Hanako, I was just asked to inform you that class is cancelled today, and I was wondering if you wanted to- " Lily stopped talking suddenly, and Hanako's eyes widened. The blind blonde girl sniffed the air, and scrunched up her nose. "Hanako...are you alright?" Lily asked.
"I...I'm fine." She lied. Unfortunately, Lily (despite being blind) knew Hanako too well not to know when she was lying.
"Hanako, did it happen again? Did you... you know..." Lily asked. Hanakos eyes threatened to cry, as she nodded.
"I...I'm sorry... I tried, I tried not to, I'm so sorry..." Hanako sobbed as lily reached for her cheek.
"Hush, it's alright. Why don't you get cleaned up, and I'll make us some tea. How does that sound?" Hanako had told Lily about her bedwetting once, not long after they had met. Or rather, she had had an accident in front of Lily, and confessed to being semi incontinent.
Later, when Hanako was showered and dressed, and her bedsheets were changed, the two girls sat in their usual spot drinking tea. Neither of them spoke, both feeling a little awkward about the mornings incident.
Finally Lily broke the silence. "So, how often does... THAT, happen?" She asked, carefully. Hanako bit her lip, drinking her tea.
"...Maybe once or twice a month." Hanako replied, although her answer sounded more like a question, telling Lily that it was more often than that.
"Hanako... you can bet honest with me. I'm your friend. I care about you. You can trust me." She said, finding Hanakos hand and squeezing it gently. The brunette hesitated, and swallowed her tea.
"...I... it might be more like, a few times a week." Hanako was clearly embarrassed about this, and what Lily was about to suggest wasn't going to make her less embarresed.
"Hanako, have you considered... protection?" She asked.
"I actually do have a plastic sheet." She explained, blushing slightly, a little relieved that Lily couldn't see her.
"Yes, that will protect the mattress, but your pyjamas and sheets still get ruined. I was thinking, more like a permanent solution. Something to protect you in your sleep, and when your awake." Hanako frowned, puzzled. Lily sensed her unease, and produced a pack of diapers from a bag, setting them down on the table.
"D-DIAPERS!? I don't...why.... I don't need to..." Lily hushed Hanako, who, from the sick, felt a familiar pressure on her bladder. She sat down again, hesitantly, and listened to Lily.
"Look, I know it's not ideal, but this way, you won't ruin your clothes or sheets. And it won't be as Humiliating as wetting yourself in front of everyone." Hanako gulped, as she remembered some time last year when she didn't make it to the bathroom in time, and pissed all over the hall floor. Some people looked away, and some looked at her with sympathy and compassion. But most laughed, pointing at her, as she stood, crying and wet in front of half the school.
"Nobody would know." Lily assured her, smiling kindly. Hanako certainly didn't want a repeat of last year, but she didn't see how diaries were less humiliating than wetting herself.
Little did Hanako know, Lily intended to get her in diapers regardless of her decision.
