A laser fires from each side of the machine, and envelops the pair. Lightning flashes as if they are electrocuted, but they are fine. For a brief second, their minds overlap as they swap between their bodies. Tails comes to first, and he instinctively adjusted his center of gravity to account for his tails, and stumbled forward, falling flat on his chest.
He looked behind him, and pinched Amy's short pink tail which was attached. He patted the air around where his tails would have been. "It feels weird not having these... Ah! This voice!" Tails grabbed his throat and started doing vocal exercises to test out his new voice.
Amy saw the whole affair and giggled. She did a quick twirl, and watched her two new tails follow with her. "Oh, I get it. It's just our minds that get switched. You should have just called it a brain switcher. I've read books and seen TV shows about stuff like this! But I never thought it was really possible!" Amy looked down, and blushed. Lots of Mobians didn't wear clothes, but she always had. It felt embarrassing to be so exposed.
"Same difference. Body swapper just made sense to me." Tails stood up, and noticing Amy trying to cover herself, took notice of the dress he now wore. It truly wasn't a big deal, but it felt a little unusual to be wearing something usually reserved for girls. He wondered if Sonic would make fun of him. "Oh! Sonic!" Tails suddenly remembered why he invited Amy over. "I was thinking, maybe you could switch with Sonic, Amy! If he ran a mile in your shoes, he might finally show a little more interest in you!"
