Chapter #6

It's magic!

    by: Unknown
"Sure I guess..." You shrug, hoping not to let on your slight excitement. Although he didn't seem to notice. A wide smile spread across his face before he slapped you on the shoulder hard enough to make you lurch.

"That's the spirit! Now lets get going." He pushed himself out of the car with surprising speed. Yanking the sack with him as he moved. You wondered where he was going to be taking you but pushed that question out of your mind as you turned the car off and left it. Locking the door behind you, you looked up to see that Felix was already crossing the street to the other side where someone strange stood. You swore he wasn't there before...

With the rapidly receding light you couldn't make out his shape very well. He was short, somewhere around stomach height to you, and seemed to be cosplaying as some sort of wizard. Was it Halloween for him or something? Although it did look mildly authentic it only made you question your new friend more as he seemed to be deliberately striding towards him. Was that person his contact?

You hurried over, not really hearing what they said as they shook hands. Although when you stepped over the curb on their side the cosplayer looked at you. His eyes scrutinizing you as you hesitantly moved forward.

"Who's this?" He asked, sounding a lot older then what he looked.

"I thought judging from the way I exited his car it would be obvious. Or is your age catching up with you?" Felix responded getting a grunt from the midget.

"Don't push your luck, Haley's the only reason I'm giving you access to this cities gate anyway." He said glaring at Felix. "My eyesight is still better then your's if you can't see that."

"Fine, care to give our friend here a shot though? He, hasn't been introduced..." Felix rubbed the back of his head as he said this. You looked at him with wide eyes, a shot of what exactly? His friend started to laugh.

"Oh, even I never thought you'd bring an unknown here! You planning on introducing him to his partner or what?" Wait what partner? This was just getting confusing now...

"No, no just testing the waters at the moment." Felix said giving a glance back at you too meet your nervous look.

"Some of them won't accept that you know, and then you'll be stuck with him until he completes his apprenticeship..." The wizard said looking at you as well.

"I wouldn't mind, he seems to be a good person." Felix vouched for you. Touching, but what apprenticeship? What did any of this mean? Was this what few people in the world had ever seen? More questions popped up in your head, making you fail to notice the midget drawing a syringe from thin air. A piercing feeling in the back of your neck was all that you felt before blacking out.

You woke up with Felix standing above you. His smile still there.

"Wow, that was fast. Took me a lot longer to recover..." He offered you his hand which you took. Everything felt weird, almost like you were in a dream. Your senses were clearer but at the same time you felt like you'd lost a lot of your mental capability. "Don't worry, just temporary." He turned around and started following the Wizard who was making his way towards a brick fence. It was swallowed by the shadows and seemed to be out of view of just about anyone who wasn't standing directly in front of it due to its indentation.

"Where was it... ah!" You heard him mumble as he ran his hand across the rough brickwork. He brought a staff out from under his cloak. A weird sun shaped thing. He tapped it against four corners which made up a large door like rectangle. You heard a loud crack and saw the bricks sink inwards. You were dumbfounded as it swung inwards to reveal a brightly lit room, almost like a foyer. You simply stood still as Felix walked in, the wizard giving you an expectant look as he walked in.

"You going to stand there all day sunshine?" He said motioning for you to go in. You nodded slightly and walked forward, entering the warm room. It looked quite normal, aside from the fact you entered it through a wall with nothing behind it. Maybe it was just a magic trick, yeah that seemed about right. You weren't even aware of the substance putting your brain into a state of denial.

"Just give your coat to him" Felix said indicating to a tall slender man. He seemed to be wearing a conductor outfit and it concealed most of his face. You handed it to him and he slung it over his arm before bowing and walking through the door behind him. You turned back to Felix, seeing him dump the sack onto the ground. Something was moving in it before he opened it up. Allowing a strange creature to crawl out.

"Hey Bearmon, enjoy your nap?" Felix said watching as it stretched.

"You need more room in there, my back feels like it's broken!" He said groaning, not aware of you staring at him until he finished. "So, you're the one that gave us a ride." he stated it more then asked.

"Y-yes." You reply, not sure about what was real and what was fake any more.

"Well thanks, I guess." He shrugged getting a slight glare from Felix. "What do you expect me to do? Grovel at his feet?" Felix just sighed before motioning with his head to follow him. You did so slowly as he opened the doors behind him, leading you into what looked like a bar. Multiple strange things were situated across the bar. A few rabbits ran around, with horns on their heads. Aside from that there was a knight sitting the the far corner just looking into his drink and a few humans talking with strange beings. You noticed that a strange biker looking dude with a mask on was working behind the bar and someone that seemed quite normal for this strange environment sitting on her own.

"I'm going to be busy for a while so make yourself comfortable!" He laughed before heading upstairs into a supposed VIP section. Now that you were alone what were you going to do?

You have the following choices:

*Noteb*
1. Sit at the bar

*Noteb*
2. Sit with the only normal looking person here

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
