Children

    by: Triple Author IconMail Icon
Through the hallway, you can see two kids, estimated to be around 11 and 13 years old, running towards Jenny with tired smiles on their faces. You manage to dodge their feet before they unknowingly stomped on you.

"Hey mum!" exclaimed a white-haired boy and brown-haired girl, both in athletic sportswear, "We're back from soccer practice!"

Jenny smiles at her younger son and older daughter as they start taking off their shoes and socks near the front door. The two siblings hug their mum and in return, hugs them back, "How was your afternoon today?"

"It was alright," the girl responded sounding a bit proud, "We were picked at team captains, and I beat Lincoln's team."

"Yeah, but that was because you had Jeremy on your team," Lincoln complained, annoyed that she was rubbing it in his face, "It's not fair that you got first pick!"

"Have you ever heard the term ladies first Lincoln?" Lynn teased, "Because that's exactly what I did this afternoon.

"Oh right, I'm so sorry for your loiss Lincoln," Jenny responded, which elicted a groan from Lincoln, "Don't worry, you;ll probably beat your sister next week!"

"Fat chance," his sister Lynn remarked, teasing his younger brother by sticking her tongue out. Retaliating, Lincoln stuck her tongue out as well in a mocking manner.

"It's been a long day today so you two better get some rest," Jenny suggested, letting the two kids go. However, a second later, their mum stopped them in their tracks.

"One more thing before you go. Have you seen Mark today? He was supposed to be watching you."

"Sorry mum, we haven't."

"Yeah," Lincoln added, "I doubt he would've been in the school oval."

"Okay, thanks you two," Jenny said as the two kids walked off to their respective rooms, to do their lesurely activities. Once they were gone, Jenny got out her smartphone and started to try and call you. Predictably, she got put through the answering machine, prompting her to hang up. In the meantime, you tried to yell out, hoping that she'll hear but there was no reaction.

"Where could he be?" Jenny said to herself, checking her watch for the time, "I need to go in five minutes!"

After some frustration, she left the room and walked over to the kitchen. Now what? You should probably get help from Jenny but the kids rooms are closer to your position. However, you're not entirely sure if they'll help you, even if you did develop a strong connection with them.
