A voice behind me made me jump. The voice belonged to a pale woman dressed in red. Her hair was as black as a storm cloud, and her beauty was striking. "What are you doing?" She sounded calm, too calm for a woman that just found a strange man going threw her things. I didn't bother to talk, instead I lunged at her. I figured, if I could knock her out I could just scamper away back down the ivy but things didn't go that way. Before I got anywhere near her, I froze. I couldn't move. There was this light buzzing sound in my ear, like a bee was flying near by and I felt a sort of pressure all around me.
"That wasn't a very nice thing you just tried. I was just going to summon a guard to escort you away but now..." as she spoke, she lifted her arms as well as me with them. With a subtle hand movement I felt the ruby's chain slip from my hands. I watched it hang in the air, just like me.
"This can't be happening," I said to myself, in complete shock.
"Lovely, isn't it?" Montclair gestured to the ruby. "You must have gone threw a lot of effort to take this." A peculiar look appeared on her face.
"You know, I have so much already. It would be selfish of me to keep this when you obviously want it so dearly." She smiled, I didn't like it. "In fact, you should come to my ball. Yes, that would be delightful. First however, you are not properly dressed for such an occasion. Don't worry though, I can help you with that."
