The fewer pirates the better she decided as she pulled one of her lethal hat pins while the pirate was turned in the other direction and waited for the man to come closer to check on her. He leaned over to grab the front of her dress, it looked like he intended to loosen the dress to allow her to breathe but his hands must have gotten lost because they were sure wandering over her breasts a great deal.
As his attention was elsewhere she slammed the needle into the eye socket and ended the life of one of her enemies. Only a small trickle of blood came from the wound as she removed the instrument of death and wiped it clean on the man’s clothing before leaving his corpse behind as she headed to her her room. Temperance moved her most precious items to hidden compartments and set some traps for any clumsy hands searching through things they shouldn’t be and applied a fresh coat of poison.
A smashing sound could be heard from her room and she suspected the search was going in earnest now and they would soon discover her. Temperance moved quickly to the door and peered into the hall and an open door at the end of the hall. She debated if she should continue the fight, the more of them she killed the greater the anger they would have the perpetrator but they were unlikely to suspect a lady of noble appearance like herself. Searching for a hidden enemy would make them paranoid and make bad decisions. The thief palmed a couple of throwing daggers and moved down the hallway listening carefully to try and figure out how many enemies she was dealing with.
She was happy to see that there were only two of them and they were focused on the looting of the room. Temperance suspected all of the success had made them sloppy or they had somehow lucked into a sky ship and she would take advantage of their lack of caution. The daggers flew true into the back of the necks of the pirates silencing them forever. Looking at the pile of treasure they had collected she was tempted to take a few items for herself but decided she needed to get away from all of the bodies piling up.
It was probably best to join the others as a prisoner so she could fade into the crowd unless she were to change to another form more able to move and strike at the pirates but sticking around was not a good idea because being found these bodies would result in a lot of questions that she didn’t want to answer. If she was quick she might have a chance to get some important gear that would help her later. Cautiously moving from the room she headed in the direction of her room and wondered if leaving the ship with some of the treasure or at least drop it off the ship for later pick up was an option. After all in chaos, there are opportunities.
