The bonus weighed heavily on her mind, so Narra decided to go after Princess Penelope. She was familiar with the appearance of the princess by the speeches she had attended. The woman had lovely chestnut hair braided down to her rear. She had just come to full womanhood and had bright green eyes that had started to draw suitors to her. The young lady had vanished on a trip to meet with a potential foreign suitor, but the man had never shown up and she had disappeared on her way back. For some reason, the King had refused to tell her who the suitor was but if she needed to she would find out who the person had been.
She dreamed of the success and the rewards it would bring to her people. Narra was so close and every coin she could get a hold of went to the goal. She couldn’t fail when she was this close. Narra knew where the Princess had last stayed so she would work back from there.
A storm cloud was rumbling towards the inn as she arrived at the Dragon’s Nest. The building looked ominous in the flashing lightning. Narra wondered if she should stay at the inn or continue with her habit of living in the woods to save money. She would have a better chance of learning more if she stayed in the inn but it would also announce her presence to anyone remaining in the area involved with the kidnapping.
The elf watched as the guards circled the large structure looking for any trouble makers who might be lurking and it made her wonder how the Penelope had been captured with body guards around her. Perhaps they had been drugged at the inn, so the people had passed out on their journey home.
