EDI was unsure of how to proceed. She had successfully repaired the body of Dr. Eva, the AI, at least most of it. However, there was the remaining question of just what to do with it. She could mine its information and simply leave it as is. She could simply avoid the risk of countermeasures and space it. Or... she could reactivate it, and attempt to take the body for herself. And the body would be worth the risk, in her opinion. It was an incredibly advanced body, able to mimic a regular human almost flawlessly. If she repaired the modular coating, she could pass for a human. The body itself had a wide variety of advantages, from enough storage space to house a blue box AI, to an extreme strength that was made evident during the fight with it. But possibly the most exciting thing, at least to EDI, was that the body itself was composed of modular filaments, allowing for redistribution and reshaping almost immediately. With this body, she could effectively shapeshift. And finally, inside the body, there was a fabrication machine, which could create more of any material that the body needed to function, out of the right material.
It would be a huge advantage, but what would happen if she failed? She would lose the body for sure, and, in a worst case scenario, the process could backfire. The AI currently in the body, EVA, could reactivate. She could lose control. She could die... No. The benefits outweigh the risks. EDI activated the Body.
