Chapter #6

The winterglade outpost

    by: Runic Author IconMail Icon
The entire area was pelted by an endless snowstorm. There was hardly any kind of visual aid as Arkanos and the robed man just stood there, not even reacting to the intense cold, as their own souls and hearts are even colder than the winter grasp.
"Why are we here?" Arkanos questioned as the robed figure had his back to him
"This is both another test of your strength and a assignment, lets see how you fare against soldiers of this era" The robed figure responded as he disappeared into the storm and just how he disappeared the snow storm had subsided, revealing a stone wall right in front of Arkanos.

The winterglade outpost is a large stone compound that belongs to the darkwatch. With a large amount of soldiers, mounted minigun turrets and cannons covering the outer wall and interior. This base was made to offer assistance and protection to a science facility near its location, which in a few moments that protection might not even be here.

Arkanos just strolled towards the winterglade's gate as several darkwatch soldiers (which to remind everyone are wearing black armor with a cross in the center of their chest with guns that have some sort of blade attached to them) approached him with great caution.
"Identify yourself!" One soldier said
"What ever happened to shoot first and double tap later?" Another soldier questioned
"Everyone shut up, I have a bad feeling about this" Another soldier said. Suddenly something in the outpost blew up, which was Arkanos's cue to start his massacre. He immediately pulled his blade out of his sheath and sliced everyone in front of him in half, some being thrown into the wall. He entered the outpost to see that there were just a hoard of all sorts of creatures coming out of nowhere, which they are all being destroyed by the darkwatch forces.
"They are all to weak!" Arkanos roared as his sword grew with a red glow and he swung his sword.

Both sides were caught in Arkanos's attack as most of them died from the initial attack and those who survived died from the loss of blood or simply didn't want to face the dread knight's blade and killed themselves. As it seemed that all were dead, someone had came up to the front gate to see all the dead bodies and the monstrosity that was Arkanos. This person was dressed in a trench coat with black boots, black gloves and his face was covered in some ninja wrappings with red glasses.
"Well I'd be damned, everyone in the front is dead here" The man has said "Well at least the others at the other side are still alive, I think" Then he picked up a radio that was in his trenchcoat "Hey, anyone alive?" There was feedback, but someone responded
"Yes sir, all hostiles killed. We are heading at the front ga- holy shit! What the fuck is th-" Then the transmission ended right there and the air filled with sounds of a battle
"Hm...so...let the sound of a battle be our melody" The man said as he pulled out a shotgun with a blade at its hilt "Come on, I'll show you what true strength is"

And then, both had charged at each other. With the man shooting his shotgun, which didn't seem to faze Arkanos one bit, and as a sign of relishing the fun in battling, Arkanos didn't try to kill the man instantly.

You have the following choices:

*Noteb*
1. The man was a challenge

*Noteb*
2. The man was a complete badass

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
