Chapter #5

Gotta hate Technology!

    by: Runic Author IconMail Icon
"Excuse me sir" A rough female voice said, I looked backed to see a female reptilian scientist of some kind, probably a chameleon, but I'm never good at judging what anthro species is which.
"Yes, what do you want?" I questioned
"I just want you to come with me" The scientist turned back into the busy area
"Okay...well I hope this isn't a waste of my time"

After following the scientist through the bustling and loud crowd of scientists doing whatever they were doing, we were in a room where multiple species were working on computers doing whatever technical thing-a-ma-jiger they were doing, which I usually let Tech do that since I know that field like I know my skills at magic, absolute crap. I examined the room more to see that there was a window view that overwatches a large gate thing that has multiple wires, futuristic stuff, and it kind of reminded me of a stargate, except this one was alot whiter.

"Why did you bring me here?" I questioned
"Oh, sorry, but we actually needed help for something" The scientist replied
"What kind of help?"
"Well you see, we have been working on trans-dimensional gates, which thanks to our fellow researchers and scientists from other factions we have got it to work. Just one problem"
"What kind of problem?"
"We sent some people out to check if it worked, and well..."
"Well what?" I questioned "Did they disentergrate or did something come through the portal?"
"Actually something happened and all of them went missing"
"So you want me to see what happened to them, just dandy, why can't you just get the hundreds of guards you have to do it? I mean, why me?"
"Why did you think you came here?"
"To inspect some lousy technilogical bull! Which now that I think about it doesn't make sense to me"
"Exactly so go in the vincinity of the portal entry point and see what happens"
"God this is crap"

I went out into the other room and stood at the base of the portal, I looked back to see the scientists were all preparing for it and they looked excited and worried, well this cannot end well.
"Ready? 3...2...1!" A male voice said and the portal activated, releasing a grand blue energy and a inside sight of a endless abyss
"Well isn't this deep?" Then all of the sudden there was a massive explosion and alarm.
"Alert, alert! Intruders in the base. All personel retreat into your bunkers and all security at arms, SHOOT TO KILL!"
"Well isn't that sad, looks like I won't be testing out your portal anyti-" I looked back to see that the window view was covered in blood "Oh you have got to be kidding me"
Then a bunch of black things with blades for limbs and teeth came rushing through the window "Okay I'm out!" I jumped into the portal without thinking. It felt like I was having all kinds of wierdness going through my body and mind. It felt very unnatural, why the hell did I do this? I woke up later to see that I had arrived in a.....
