Suddenly remembering his power, Evan decided that his father Jack was the most logical person in his family to share it with. He was an easygoing guy and someone that he knew he could trust. Evan headed out of his room to search for his dad, and located him in the living room, sitting on the couch watching TV. He was still wearing the dark red button-down shirt, black trousers, and black men's loafers he'd worn to work that day.
"Hey Dad," said Evan.
"Hey bud," he replied. "How are you feeling? Your mother said you stayed home."
"Yeah, I felt awful this morning," Evan said. "But I'm feeling much better now."
"That's good to hear," Jack said. "Anyway, what's up?"
"I wanted to talk to you about something, actually," Evan said.
"Sure, what's on your mind?"
"Okay, so I had this weird dream last night," Evan started to explain. "I mean a really weird dream and I think it has something to do with that headache I had this morning."
"Alright..." Evan's dad said, not seeming to quite follow where he was going with this."
"Let me explain," Evan said. "In the dream I heard this voice tell me that I now have the power to swap anything between myself and another person, provided I have their permission. I know it sounds crazy, but the fact that I woke up with such a pounding headache makes me wonder if I really do have this power."
"Maybe you're not feeling better after all," Evan's dad laughed, dismissing his idea as silly.
"I'm being serious, Dad," Evan said. "Look, this power probably isn't real, but I just want to try it."
"If you say so," Jack agreed with a chuckle, suspecting his son was joking around or something.
"Okay, Dad, assuming this power works, what would you want to swap with me?"
"I'll humor you," Jack laughed. He thought over Evan's question for a moment then suggested they try swapping ...
