In the end, Steph ended up not trying the power out on her family. She would test it out later and see if it was real once she was feeling better. Her head was still throbbing and the coffee didn't seem to be helping much. As she sat there finishing her coffee, Evan, Alex, and her mom all went on their way, leaving her alone.
When she was done, Steph decided to go back to bed for a bit. Even though she'd just had some coffee, she quickly fell asleep upon climbing back into bed.
Steph woke up a few hours later once the caffeine had worked its way into her system. As she yawned and stretched, she noticed that the pounding in her head seemed to have stopped.
"I guess a little more sleep was all I needed," Steph said to herself as she got herself up.
Looking around her room, she thought about what to do. She did have a power she wanted to test out. She knew it seemed ridiculous, but something about her dream and her headache made her think it was real. Unfortunately, no one was home at the moment that she could test it with.
Steph thought about maybe meeting up with one of her friends to try it out, or perhaps she would go out for her usual run and see who was out in about in the neighborhood. She also figured she could go visit the mall and find some people to try it out with there.
