Deciding to take Mark up on his offer to skip school, Evan sent him a text letting him know. Mark replied soon after, saying he would be bailing on school momentarily and that Evan should meet him at his house since it was about halfway between Evan's and the school. Evan agreed, then got ready to head out.

It wasn't that long of a walk to Mark's house, and Evan and Mark both arrived around the same time. "Hey man," Mark greeted his best friend. He approached Evan and the two high fived. "Feeling better?" he then asked as the two headed inside.

"Yeah," Evan answered as they headed up to Mark's room. "Headache's mostly gone ... but ..."

"But what?" Mark asked.

"Fuck it. This is gonna sound crazy, but I had this weird dream where I heard this voice tell me I have the power to swap traits between myself and another person, as long as they are willing. Then, I woke up with that headache and all my energy felt drained, and I think that I might actually have this power now."

"You're right, that does sound crazy," Mark said. "But we ought too give it a try, right?"

"Exactly," Evan said. "Let's try swapping something to see if it works."

"You got it," Mark said.

"Alright, what should we swap?" Evan asked his friend.

Mark thought about it for a few moments before suggesting that they swap ...
