This choice: go about our day as normal and we'll see who talks to us. • Go Back...Chapter #4Go throughout our day and see who talks to us by: yugglopo   "Easy, we just go about our normal day and see who talks to us. That way, we can live out the effect of the swap," Alex said anxiously.
"Okay. I guess I just have to concentrate and the swap will happen," Evan said as he started to focus.
After he finished, Alex said, "I don't feel any different."
"That's because the swap didn't physically affect us in any way, so we probably won't feel any different."
"Okay then, let's just wait and see what happens."
Mark normally drove the two younger Wilsons to school as he passed by their house every morning. He also drove Alex's best friend Lily, as she was Mark's next door neighbor. Mark arrived at the house within five minutes of the swap, but it felt like thirty to Evan as his killer headache wasn't affecting his cause. As Evan and Alex made their way out Mark's car and Evan instinctively hopped in the front seat next to Mark.
"Evan. For the last time, Alex is my best friend and she gets to ride shotgun. You know that." Mark said.
The swap had worked! Evan and Alex exchanged glances in amazement. Then a huge smile came across her face as she realized she could now ride in the front on the way to school. She passed Evan and hopped in front as Evan heard a "sup Wilson" come from Mark, which is what he would always say to Evan.
He hopped in the back next to Lily as she laughed, "silly Evan! I know you love me too much to not want to sit with me!"
As they rode through, Evan heard Mark telling Alex how annoying his sister Allison was. Mark would normally tell him stories about her. Evan knew about every little thing she tried to pull on Mark. Lily was talking to Evan about how some girl changed her hairstyle or something like that. He didn't get much more out of the conversation with her because he didn't really care about 15 year old girl problems that much. Although all of his friends probably had those problems now.
Lily then looked at Evan concerned. "Are you okay Evan? You seem a little out of it."
"Yeah I'm fine. I just have this killer headache." He technically wasn't lying but he wasn't telling the truth about not caring about her issues either.
"Well maybe you should go home early if your sick. I can get all of your work from your teachers if needed," she then grabbed hold of Evan's hand. "That's what besties do for each other anyway."
Lily then inched closer to him and put her head on his shoulder. She was acting as if she was attracted to him. He remembered a few times where she would have a sleep over with Alex and one time he caught her staring at him with his shirt off before bed. Evan hoped not and hoped that the swap with his sister was only temporary at the same time. He didn't want to be her boyfriend or anything.
Mark then pulled up at school and the four of them hopped out of the car and Lily came up from behind Evan and gave him a hug. "Bye Evan," she said in a somewhat flirty tone, and then she left.
Evan, Alex and Mark had similar locker locations so they walked there to start the day. As the three of them were opening up their lockers, Amy came up from behind Alex and said, "guess who?"
"Amy?" Alex guessed.
"That's right sweetie!" Amy happily proclaimed as she turned Alex around and pulled her into a passionate kiss. To Evan shock, Alex kissed back! Suddenly Evan started to wonder if his younger sister had a thing for girls. Mark didn't seem to think anything was off.
"See you later baby," Amy gave Alex a flirty wink and went off to class.
"Well, I'll see you at lunch, Alex!" Mark said as he headed off to his class.
"Okay then," Alex said. "See you later Evan".
"Whoa whoa whoa, hold up," Evan said. "Why are you kissing my girlfriend like that?"
"Well she's my girlfriend now, so I can kiss her whenever and however I want. Okay? Bye now," she said with a peppy tone.
"This is gonna be a long day," Evan said as he headed to class.
