Randy slammed the door to his room shut and flopped on the bed.
The arguments with his mother were growing worse and worse all the time. Sure, Randy was slacking off in school, and getting into trouble with his friends, and was having girl issues, and had absolutely no idea what he wanted his future to be, but that was no excuse for his mother to yell at him.
OK, maybe it was an excuse.
But Randy reflected on all the things going on with his life right now and just wanted to disappear. He didn't want to go to school, or work, or have to ask girls out, or fight with his mom. He just wanted to live life simply and happily. Nothing more. He wanted to have fun, without getting in trouble with the law or going back to the drugs or anything like that. But everything was so interconnected and complicated. Living simply wasn't easy.
Randy finally sat up on his bed and looked out the window, looking at a giant star beaming in the distance. Randy scoffed, remembering that song "When You Wish Upon A Star" from that one Disney movie, the one his Sister liked.
Randy looked up at this star, and decided to have some fun.
"Well, I wish I could live a happier, simpler life with absolutely no worries." Randy laughed. He didn't notice that the star seemed to shine a bit brighter.
