After Gale and Katniss finished hunting and hid their weapons in logs, they climbed under the wire of the "electrified" fence and got ready to sell their meat.
When they arrived to the shop, they were both surprised to hear what the salesman has to say.
"Did you see that young man that's visiting district twelve?" He asked. "He went all the way to the Victors Village no problem. I think he was a victor from District three? No it was four. Definately four. He walked past the peacekeepers with a cocky smile and no worries."
Katniss realized immediately who this was. She'd heard about this cocky preener before, his name was Finnick Odair.
"What could he want from me?" Katniss asked. "I'm the only one he could want besides Peeta."
"Probably wants to mess around with you," Gale thought.
"But why?"
"Just let me talk to him. You can wait at my place."
And so Gale went into the Victors village when no peacekeepers were looking, and entered Katniss' home. Katniss' mom and sister weren't there, otherwise Finnick would never have said:
"Well, well, well, if it isn't the famous girl on fire. I'm gonna enjoy -- wait a minute. Who the hell are you?"
"I'm Gale. A friend of Katniss. No what are you doing in here."
"Well, I wanted to meet the famous girl on fire," Finnic said. "Maybe even blast some gas in her face since she's taking my fame away in the Capitol."
Gale's face twisted into an expression of disgust and confusion, while Finnick just widened his grin.
"But you look iike you'd be a little more fun to pass gas on."
Gale backed away and tried to reach the door knob to leave the fancy house. But Finnick grabbed the collar of Gale's jacket and pulled him back causing Gale to fall. Gale seemed to hit his head so hard he passed out.
