“So, I’ve been thinking of a few things we could do to start off class, and I believe some basic sketching is in order,” Megan Porter said, eyes gleaming with eagerness. “But before we begin, does anyone here have any past experiences with art?”
Immediately, almost every tubby hand in the class went up in affirmation. Megan nearly sighed in relief; it was a good thing she got a class of eager students, it’d make her job a lot easier. She had heard horror stories of art teachers that didn’t have enthusiastic classes, and the slim blonde was in no rush to join that list.
Deciding to pick someone to share further, Megan decided to point to and call out the name of one of the students in the back row. From what her class register said, the pale redhead was called “Sherry Timber”. She looked quite heavy (like practically everyone else), and had a big grin on her face that parted her cherubic cheeks.
“Well, I’ve been into art for as long as I can remember. I’m pretty good at sketching and painting, and I really hope I can continue to hone my abilities here!” Sherry explained. “What forms of art are you really into, Ms. Porter?”
“Oh, me? Well, I’m quite the fan of painting, myself. I also quite enjoy sketching, whether with normal or colored pencils. There were also some sculpting classes I took in college, so I can make some pretty nice things out of clay! Are there any other forms of media anyone is interested in?” the svelte blonde asked.
Thus, the rest of the class was spent with more introductions, as well as showing the eager girls all sorts of different shading techniques. They drew with a lot of determination, and proved that most students already had some skill prior to entering the course. Overall, Megan couldn’t be happier with the class she had, and the same was true of the tubby girls’ opinions of their teacher.
Finally, the end of class came, and Ms. Porter clapped her hands together with a large grin beaming on her face.
“Alright, everyone! Class is dismissed, you all worked wonderfully today. I hope the rest of the day is kind to each and every one of you!”
As the girls hefted themselves up from their seats (which proved to be a little difficult due to their girths), they started pulling stuff out of their bags. At first, Megan couldn’t see what it all was, but then she realized they were various candies and pastries. As each student made their way out of the room, they made sure to come up to her desk and drop off a couple of treats each. The last one, her name being “Tina Smith”, smiled jovially as she placed down an apple crumble and a family-sized Hershey’s chocolate bar.
“You’re an awesome teacher, Ms. Porter! I’m looking forward to the next class!” she said as she lumbered out of the room.
Looking down at her desk, Megan saw that a veritable feast was laid out in front of her eyes. There were enough deserts on the counter that they could feed several families! What was she to do with all the chocolate bars, apple crumbles, muffins, cake, donuts, truffles, and scones?
While she appreciated her student’s generosity, she flashed back to how heavy everyone was on this campus. Why, the average weight for a girl in art instructor's class alone would be about 280 lbs. Would she start to gain weight too if she indulged in all these treats?
