Make no mistake, Melissa was still way fatter than she had any right to be.
After a momentary struggle against the coming onslaught of pudge at the beginning of their freshman year, Mel had succumbed entirely to the powers of persuasion that a nearly endless supply of food and an overwhelmingly enabling atmosphere could provide. Within weeks—not months—her tight runner’s body began to yield and melt to fit the mold that Ronnie had quickly created, expanding on every axis until she was so bloated and out of shape that nobody would have been able to tell that she had ever run anywhere, at any point in her life.
The girl that stood before them was large, make no mistake. Bigger than any entering sophomore ought to have been, even in a place like Buttercombe. But she was somewhat smaller than the enormous hog that trudged down the hallways at a snail’s pace; a bit shapelier and more svelte than the last time she, Alice and Ronnie had been in the same room together. Her gut didn’t hang quite as low, and her hips weren’t quite so thick. Melissa’s tonnage of tits had lessened slightly, as had the severity of her swaddling double chin. She was still improbably vast—with an incredibly large bust that made even Alice twinge with curiosity and jealousy—but there was some semblance of the former runner returning to her presence. While she didn’t look athletic per se, she looked… fitter.
She looked to have lost somewhere around thirty pounds, while chiseling out a more defined and womanly shape for herself.
“Ronnie!” Mel said ecstatically, throwing her doughy arms up in the air and thrusting herself onto the big brunette, “Oh I’ve missed you so much!”
Alice struggled to keep herself turned, due to the pitiable state her stamina was in and the awkwardness of the angle, but she managed to get a pretty good idea about her friend’s weight loss. Even Ronnie, as she pulled away from the dramatic embrace, took a quick second to look their boobalicious third up and down.
As they separated, Mel’s nostrils flared and her mighty chest rose. She inhaled deeply, taking in the particular aroma of the room.
“Something smells good.” her brown eyes lit up slightly
“They’re my special Welcome Back chocolate-chip cookies.” Ronnie hid her confusion behind the natural bubbliness of her voice, “Why don’t you go sit down next to Alice—you came over just in time, I was about to pull another batch out.”
Another batch? Surely Alice hadn’t eaten—
“Alice!” Melissa said excitedly struggling to heave one bloated leg over the other as she tottered over to where the enormous blonde remained seated, “I almost didn’t see you there, c’mere!”
Alice was subjected to the most awkward, breastiest hug she’d ever known as Melissa bent over to wrap her arms around Alice’s meaty shoulders. Alice’s chubby cheeks were practically thrust between her enormous ta-ta’s, something that caused her to redden like a ripe tomato. Melissa’s belly oozed onto hers, applying a distinct softness and pressure to the crown of Alice’s growing gut. Eventually she was freed as Melissa tottered past her and plopped herself down on the loveseat.
The blimpy blonde couldn’t help but stare. It had been so long since she’d seen Melissa; Alice more or less expected her friend to come back looking exactly like she had remembered her, just as big and round (if not more top-heavy) than she was. But instead she had come back looking a little smaller. A little skinnier… less fat.
Meanwhile Alice had probably found whatever weight Melissa had lost… and then some.
“It’s been forever Al—I’ve missed you!” Melissa asked happily, “How was your Summer?”
“It was…”
Memories flooded Alice’s mind as she attempted to piece out any particular activity that she had done over the Summer that would have remotely impressed Melissa—just so she’d have something to say instead of “quality time with her sister.” But that had more or less been what she’d done. Lay around and eat. Watch Netflix. Play on her new laptop. Her life had more or less continued where she’d left off before Summer started; whereas Melissa’s looked to have gotten a lot better...
“Good.” Alice finished timidly, “How was… um… how was yours?”
“Ugh. Terrible.” Melissa said exasperatedly, “My Mom flipped out when I came home. She practically blew out her vocal chords bitching at me about how I’d let myself go, and how if I gained so much as a pound come Christmas, she’d put me in another boarding school.”
“That’s awful!” Alice had actually more or less expected a similar reaction at the start of her own Summer, but that was beside the point
“Yeah, tell me about it.” Melissa huffed, “So I’ve gotta be super careful about what I eat.”
“Aww…” Ronnie said sympathetically from the kitchen as she outfitted her hand with a cute little pink oven mitt, “Well that was just mean of her—picking on you like that.”
Everyone agreed noncommittally amongst themselves, the conversation stalling slightly as Ronnie retreated into the oven to procure her cookies. Alice could only mope silently to herself that her Summer had been hardly as productive. While it had been plenty of fun, Melissa had come back to school a good twenty pounds lighter than she had been when she left, whereas Alice had only continued to blimp up. What’s worse, she’d done it under her mother’s watch—the one place she thought her waistline was safe…
“Well sweetie, if you ever need a snack, you know the right room to come to.” Ronnie said, not an ounce of guilt or frustration detectable in her overtly peppy tone, “And on that note, my, um… low-fat, gluten-free Welcome Back cookies are done!”
