Ai ran across the ground kicking up dirt while she did so. A dirty and ragged robe was her only cover for herself barring her under wrappings. Which were much cleaner than her raggedy robes. Her breath came out in blasts for she had been running for over thirty minutes now. A bag of coins jiggled in her pockets or makeshift holdings.
She had stolen them or rightfully repurposed them for her own use. It wasn't as though the noble who was pinned under a horse was using it. And she didn't cause the accident, it was his own fault for not knowing the land. Didn't yesterday's rain connect anything in his gourd? Her small gesture had caused a ruckus though and the noble had made such a roar that his retinue had managed to find him.
He would've gotten killed anyways, what noble goes through these lands without their samurai on their ass? Now that she thought about it, she was just taking his coins for a better purpose. He would've died, and then his money would've gone to much more devious bastards. Like that one gang, the Mountain Teeth, who had stalked and killed their way around these parts. No samurai had taken their heads yet.
Ai's mind went back to her own problem. The noble's samurai had come racing towards the master and Ai had made a hasty retreat. She didn't hear the hoofbeat of horses behind her, but she didn't want to take the chance of being found.
Coming upon her was a wrecked home, long abandoned. They were increasingly, and depressingly, becoming more common. Ai didn't put much mind into that, she just needed cover. She ducked inside of it and closed the shoji behind her. A breath of relief escaped her throat.
"Hello there." A seductive voice came from within. Ai's eyes shot upwards to see who had spoken to her. From the darkness came a figure, feminine from the looks of it.
