Chapter #9

Looking to the incredible discomfort you see yo...

by: Mr. George Author IconMail Icon
Your horrid udder sloshes wildly beneath you, as you try to escape your body. It wallows heavily from side to side, stopping you from getting up any speed. Your hind legs crash against it painfully, and you have to stop. Admitting defeat, you know you need to be milked. Looking around, you see the same wide eyes on a couple of other cows. The majority remain dull-eyed and disinterested.

Desperate to hope for any hope or returning to a human body, you find your wits slowing, and muddling. Communication is impossible, as the farmer arrives to her you back to the milking shed.

There's only a slim hope of making him understand. But, the need to get milked trumps that. Riding on his ATV, you're driven towards the shed. Instinct as much as choice being a factor. The steel bars guide you into a tight stall. All hope of movement reduced until you don't even have room to turn.

An automatic gate clangs behind you, and you're pinned in place. The glass tanks for your milk look massive and empty. The farmer blissfully unaware of this phenomenon.

His apathy just as clear, as you're connected up to the pump. Your lowing ignored, and attempts to draw out letters with your forehoof also missed. As the pump starts working, you feel incredible. You had no idea it felt so good. A dull haze gripping and holding you in place.

Even one of the more reluctant cows... You suspect another transposed human is guided to the last stall. Her cries just as bovine, and incomprehensible as your own. Her protests over-ridden with taps from a length of rubber hose to encourage her compliance.

Your eyes meet across the central aisle of the milking shed. But, you can't hold her attention. A shiver runs down your spine, as she can't see you as any different from the rest of the herd. A mortifying reminder, as you feel your tail lift, and release your bowels. Those humiliating instincts controlling the basic functions of this body. You concentrate on exploring how much you can control, and how precisely. It's incapable of resisting. But, you suspect and dread this incapacity to speak, to protest, will inevitably lead to you sinking into this bovine life.

You hold onto hope, that he'll discover this phenomenon. That there's some trace of this shifting of personalities. That if you persevere, and hold firm you can reclaim some aspect of humanity, or autonomy. You don't relish living as a dumb beast... denied even your intelligence.
