"I'll have to be subtle about this," Kyle said to himself as he watched Shana, waiting for an opportunity to switch bodies with her. If he just ran up and forced her to switch bodies, he'd have to force her to keep quiet somehow (almost impossible), try to impersonate her (extremely difficult) or hope she was happy to have switched bodies with him (the realm of fiction). His only hope was to make it some look some accident or act of god.
The entirety of the day passes without an opportunity, and Kyle figures it's a waste of time to try and switch with Shana White, when that act of God actually strikes him in the face. As he's climbing the stairs, suddenly Shana comes running down through a door in the opposite direction,and slams into him hard. The sensation of ground beneath his feet gives way, as both teens are launched into the air. The device slips out of his hand.
Next they tumble together down the stairs, rolling over each other, and finally land at the bottom. Kyle's butt lands on something and there's a quick shock that courses through their bodies.
Something has happened, but the shock has left Kyle on the verge of consciousness.
