You hold off on your test run, and continue to configure the machine for weeks. You have to rebuild certain processes from the ground up, and rely on the aid of another scientist you met online, but after hundreds of hours of reworking, the body swap machine has been successfully configured to work over the internet.
You took the same technology from the portable core, and applied it to work through the computer. Any computer with a special program installed became a terminal compatible with the machine. Most people would never realize they had any control, as you launched it over the internet as a virus, secretly installing itself on millions of computers. Any computer or device running the program was a target, and you could use the machine to swap with them long distance. Only you and your partner knew how to locate the program installed on the computer, but once you did, it was possible to use it to remotely swap back, so long as there was still someone inside of the pod of the machine back in your garage.
There was no limit! Anywhere in the world that there was a computer, there was a body to switch into!
