Consciousness came to her. The room was less gothic and black thanks to the incoming sunlight the glossed over her eyelids. Jade felt her hand on her mid-section. Slightly, it felt good. She remembered the incredible feast she had the night before and could still taste the chicken wings she had from last night.
“I think some is still stuck in my teeth.” Jade rolled from her bed and felt a heaviness she wasn’t used to, “It must be one of those mornings…”. Jade went on to do her usual morning activities of brushing, showering, washing, and dressing. Except the dressing part didn’t go as well as planned.
“Erg, come on! Why won’t this fit?!?” Trying her hardest, Jade tried to fasten her bra over her breasts. She even tried pulling until it hurts her back. No use. “Did these shrink in the wash? Oh, well.” Jade grabbed another pair and tried again. No fit.
Jade went on for a good hour trying on all of the bras in her possession. Yet somehow, all of them must’ve shrunk in the wash! “What could’ve caused this?!?” Jade yelled slamming her fists onto her drawer. She was simply a few seconds away from calling Beck to go emergency bra shopping, when she spotted the clock.
“8:25? I’m late for school!” In a rush, Jade threw all of her books in her book-bag and rushed for the door. Suddenly, before she could step out, a painful wave of hunger hit her stomach. “I’m late already! I can’t stop and eat.”
Her stomach disagreed with a gurgle. Jade rolled her eyes and sighed, “Maybe I’ll eat a few waffles.”
Robbie struts through the hallways of Hollywood Arts, trying to look cool for the ladies as usual when he spots his good friend, Beck without his girlfriend, Jade. Robbie, being the good guy that he is, decides to talk to Beck.
“Hey, pal. Where’s Jade?” Beck couldn’t believe that this loser was talking to him. Hell, even his puppet is more enjoyable to have a conversation with. “I don’t know. Have you seen Tori? I haven’t seen her in two days.”
“Naw, nothing from me.”
Robbie raised his right hand, allowing his puppet to make eye contact with Beck, “Yeah, last I saw was Jade bitchin’ at Tori for something stupid. Involved eating.”
Robbie was surprised, “Rex! Language! This is a tween show!”
Stuffed. So. So. Stuffed. That was all Jade could think about. She rested reclined on the couch, with her hand rubbing her throbbing stomach. It seems that a few waffles wasn’t enough to stifle Jade’s newfound appetite. Her puffer-fish band T-shirt clung tightly to her basketball sized belly, but couldn’t cover her new love handles. Jade’s usual black pants which were already tight and form fitting split at a few of the seams around the thighs. It became uncomfortable to bend over due to the tightness around the seat of the pants. Jade hadn’t noticed the increased softness around her arms, or around her face, and chin. She had just laid there in a food coma with plenty of dirty dishes and food crumbs spread all about.
Her eyes drifted over to the clock, which read 11:01, “Huh, I still have time to go to school.”
Her backpack sat there right next to the door, but Jade felt so full and sleepy. Maybe a nap would feel nice.
