Ashley grew back to normal size

Almost as quickly as she had shrunk, Ashley was restored to her normal size.

Amy and Ashley soon found out that Sophie's father worked for a government facility that researched exotic isotopes. Sophie's father discovered one that would shrink a human being for an indeterminate amount of time. Tired of his daughter constantly losing to Ashley, he snuck the isotope out of his lab and dosed Ashley's sports drink with it, hoping to keep Ashley small long enough so that his daughter could win at least one tournament. Unfortunately for Sophie's father, the isotope was so unstable that the moment Ashley was touched by another human being, she would be restored to normal size.

Sophie's father went to jail for a very, very long time. Sophie would be put in foster care, where she would end up staying with a very loving elderly couple who would give her the encouragement and validation her own father never did. Eventually, Ashley and Sophie would become the best of friends and also go on to become the winningest partners in tennis history. But neither they nor their friend Amy would ever have a shrinking adventure again.
