“I got to tell you, now that you can talk it makes thing a lot easier then biting my ear or leg every time you want my attention.” Natsu said to you after about a week. You had been growing at an accelerated rate because of being a Dark Hunter King and going through the portal a mere couple hours after birth. In that week you had already grown to a horse’ size and quickly found out how to go from human to dragon and back. Although currently your human form was still an infant size so you just stayed as a dragon.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t hurt you did I?” you apologized. You used extra care as you got bigger not to bite to hard but he had pretty tough skin for a human.
“Hey don’t worry about it, it just surprised me sometimes. Which reminds me… were getting a team together, do you want to join?” he asked.
“Wasn’t I already with you Natsu?” you asked. It was true and your received a guild seal on both your dragon form and human form. In your human form it was on your arm like Natsu’s but black. In dragon form it was put on your side and as you grew it did as well. “I mean you’re like my family so…?”
“Well yeah, we’re all a big family in Fairy Tail and it’s awesome hanging out with you and stuff but we still have to go on missions and for that we should put together a team so other people don’t think they can grab you.” he said just in time for one of the other members to come forward.
“Hey Max, why don’t you join up with a real man?” said Elfman and you got a look from happy as if to say ‘see what he means’.
“No way, I asked him first!” Natsu yelled.
“Maybe he doesn’t want to.” Elfman hollard back.
“Well I…” you started but they weren’t listening anymore as they started fighting, again.
“They never change do they?” came Lucy’s voice from the same table. They were about to go on a job and was about to form a new team so they naturally thought of you. You and Natsu were pretty close as he was like a father to you, kind of. He was the second person you saw so he was held in high station by instinct if nothing else. But that feeling slowly passed through to the rest of the guild.
“Well, it’s never boring.” You agreed. While your genetic memory gave you wisdom beyond your years and understanding far beyond normal people or even other dragons you still had only been alive for a little more than a week. So you watched a lot of what went on and experienced a lot of everything to add to your own personal experience of things. “So you three want me in your…?” you asked, not remembering the word Natsu used.
“…team? Yes we do. Just as long as you don’t eat me or any of my spirits again.” She said as a half joke and half warning. A few days ago when you were going through one of your growing spurts you had an instant increase in appetite. In that state you clamped down on one of her spirits and swallowed it down on pure instinct. She tried to stop you but it only ended in swallowing her half down as well. Luckily you caught yourself and spit them out. She wasn’t really mad at you but she was more careful around you from then on.
“I… you don’t have to worry about that. I didn’t mean to do it.” You said as you looked down and away from her. It was obvious that you felt really bad about it and she was kind of sore about the incident as well but she knew you were still really young so she had forgiven you quickly.
“Oh, I know Max. But I got to know, did I taste good?” she asked in a weird sense of fascination.
“I, don’t really know… you had too much clothes on to get a good taste and that little plush toy thing didn’t taste that good. Lucy, you got to know that I would never hurt you.” you said as you were worried that she thought you would really eat her in the future and it showed.
“Whoa Max, I already know that. Don’t worry, I don’t think that you would.” Lucy said as she waved her hands in both your and her defense.
“So are you going to join our team or what?” Happy asked as he flew and landed on your head. Despite almost eating him a few times, Happy was very relaxed around you and it meant a lot that he didn’t even bring it up.
“Yes, I think I will.” You answered after thinking about it for a while.
“Alright! You hear that Elfman? I win!” Natsu said but was soon in another ‘manly’ fight.
“Well I guess we’ll be leaving on our first mission after he gets done.” You said as you sighed.
“See, we all know each other so well already.” Lucy said as she seemed to be more fascinated by you then Natsu but was overall still star struck from being and equally new member as you.
