Bargaining

"That's a bit over my budget," Katie said, care to knock it down to sixty?"

"No, but I can do ninety," the old lady replied.

"Sixty five," Katie said.

"Eighty five," The old lady replied, "I've got rent to pay on this place."

"Seventy five," Katie said.

"Eighty, and that's my last offer deary," the old lady replied.

"Okay, eighty it is," Katie replied digging her purse out of her bag and shelling up the cash.

Putting the cash in the till, the old lady handed Katie a heavy paper bag and led her to the front of the store, and handed her the idol, which seemed remarkably heavy for its size, "there you go miss."

"Thanks," Katie said, and headed for the door.

Once out the door Katie...
